Graffineule - lessons were learned
Another pattern I absolutely fell in love with. I love nordic designs, I love icelandic yarn, I love geometry, it was a match made in heaven. A promise of fast knit, pretty pattern and something a little bit out of the ordinary was everything I was hoping for in a Christmas time knit.

Sadly, it did not end up that way. It was not the pattern´s fault, though 😀
I based my calculations on a sample I made years ago. My tension and speed have changed since then and, well, I calculated that I will have to cast on even more stitches than the pattern called for. I came up with a parameter and voila, I was ready to cast on.
WROOOOONG! When I made my way through my third try of corrugated ribbing, I realized that I am knitting probably men´s XXL size. At least the frogging was pretty fast. After three more tries with the corrugated ribbing (it was my first time working with it), I just gave up on it and I made a simple 1×1 ribbing and casted on the recommended amount of stitches for my size.
You see, it was late and I was mad at myself do I didn´t even measure how many stitches less I should make the next try.
You guessed it, it was still to big 😀
When I got to the yoke, which I still adore, it seems pretty straightforward. What I didn´t expect, was how much trouble I will have around the raglan decreases – so the pattern looks continuous or at least semi-decent. Another fail, even though I think I managed quite well on this one.
The result is a sweater that is super nice and squishy, but is too big for me and my husband. Maybe this one will fit my brother and I will learn my lessons and make one more that´s a lot smaller to fit me 😀 Because the pattern is still to die for.
Wish me luck on that one 😉
