Yokelore - testknit
I love knitting sweaters. I made my first sweater 7 years ago and it´s still my favourite one. I have made sweaters for me, my parents (well, my dad´s sweater was supposed to be for my brother, but before I could finish it, my brother lost some weight and it was too big for him, oops) and soon one for my husband (we are struggling with choosing a pattern, though). In total, I have knitted about 10 sweaters, which is not overly dramatic number.

Also, I am a sucker for pretty yokes. My Ravelry library is literally exploding with yokes. I even have a whole section named "Yokes". So, there you go.
Naturally when I saw a sweater with a beautiful geometric yoke coming together on my instagram feed, I was in love and I just had to have it. It was a pattern being made and I turned on instagram notifications (which I do very rarely) to not miss the tester call. And I got in!
The pattern is called Yokelore and it is very, very easy colorwork. Nothing too intricate so it´s suitable for anyone, who is just starting with colorwork. I made it in Drops Lima as I had a couple odd balls of it just laying around (I think I wanted to make a different sweater from them sometime in the past, haha) but I missed the main colour. My idea of stahsbusting went out the window when I bought a couple more balls of the MC than needed. Oops.
However, even though I matched the gauge, the sweater came out too big (and apparently I was not the only one with this problem). Not OMGTHISISSUPERFREAKINBIG, but about 40 sts bigger. Will I be making one more that´s better fitting (and as a gradient, ooooh)? Probably yes :) Will I still wear this one as a super cozy early spring sweater when I don´t need anything over a sweater? Definitely!
Another problem I had (and again, I was not the only one) was the puckering of the colourwork. I am very, very cautious about that and give every float extra pull. Aparently I was not pulling enough and I hoped for blocking to do some magic. It did some, but it will need a bit more stretching. and gentle pushing and pulling for it to lay flat.
Overall it was a pleasant knit. Like I said, the pattern is really easy colourwork and I love especially the fit around the neck. And I think I will be making more of this neck "solution" as it is really nice and beautifully ties the sweater together. Thanks for the trust and if you will excuse me, I will go finish another sweater ;)
